What’s With …

Sarah Geronimo vs. Miley Cyrus?  Face – Off.

WORD FROM OUR SPONSOR:
DISCLAIMER:  This is not a HATE Blog.  Its content is for the open minded and strong of heart.  If you get too emotional attached, this is mainly the Bloggers Opinion.  So get a life.

Sarah Geronimo, a 22 year old singer, actress, host, painful dancer and a more painful commercial model who rose to star level popularity by singing and winning in a local show competition.  Now, you see her on Philippine television 24/7 endorsing a product here and there, shaking her black Rapunzel hair or warbling in some noontime show.  But let’s face it, sure she can get consumers to buy her endorsements, but can somebody please work on her total image?  Something does not click.  Something is wrong somewhere.  Something … it is odd but every inch of my gut tells me there is a stark disconnect with the product features and the product image, if you will look closely along the lines that says:  Consumer Watch.  Do you see Sarah as a potential ultimate Diva, say 5 years down the road?  A Diva?  Hello?  You can walk like a duck, waddle like a duck, quack like a duck, but you are still a pigeon.  Look she may be the sweetest girl in the world, but you are missing the point here.

11,745 kilometers or 7298 miles or 6342 nautical miles away is another famous, infamous, depends on how you want to place it, popular icon, the young Hannah Montana or the totally abused Miley Cyrus.  Disney Channel uncovered a gold mine when they launched her in the cult series.  Just 18 years old and she has successfully achieved an image even her father Billy Ray, could possibly, (I said possibly) cringe about if not for the millions she is raking in for her CDs and hit songs.  But look closely, when she was Hannah Montana I just have to agree she was totally cute.  But to behave and act like Hannah Montana with a “bong” in your mouth or to be subject of a million tweets because of scandalous acts, no wonder some people actually believe Britney Spears is a total sweetheart!  Who knows what lies beneath the heart of a young lady brought up in Hollywood style?  And to quote from the immortal Lindsay Lohan herself: “ I hate it when people call me a teen queen.”

What do we have?  Between a pretentious local wannabe who dreams of becoming the next Lady Gaga, and an all-out there untamed California girl who would threaten the queen-ness of Britney and Lindsay in terms of Disturbed Factor, the options for teen icons are getting from a bad case scenario to a worst case scenario.  However, the truth is - They sell.  These girls sell because their followers buy them.  You could be a fan for all I care.  But is this the best both worlds can give?  This is it?  I don’t know about you but since I have been under Risperidone and Olanzapine alternately, I have seen the light!
